about

A few bands in history have done albums in reverse. Mudhoney put reverse songs on ‘My Brother The Cow’ in 1994 to fill up a CD. The original CD not the re-master, includes a 34-minute hidden track named "woC eht rehtorB yM"; which is most of the album's preceding songs played backwards. Also, Napoleon XIV’s A side/B side 7 inch single from 1966 "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa! / !aaaH-aH, yawA eM ekaT ot gnimoC er'yehT".

Why we've decided to release the album both forwards and in reverse was as reflexive as the necessity to exhale after holding my breath in for so long making the album. Months became years of fine tuning and perfecting the product that is the cassette you hear here. The B side is that effortless release. A metaphor of the out breath can also be thought of in the way our so-called great civilisation has breathed capitalism and industrialisation IN for centuries of exponential growth without factoring in entropy or the ecologically vital state of pausing to breathe out. To restore balance to our own bodies would symbiotically balance the planet. To unload our lungs of dangerous levels of toxic EVERYTHING....
