about

I was so bad at maths until my grade 9 maths teacher took me under his wing and helped me grasp the obfuscating code of numbers through visualisation and a kinaesthetic learning approach. In other words, he made it made sense. I learned that numbers were infinitely plastic and elastic, that they could morph in and out of infinitely wonderful shapes and describe everything from the tangible to the ephemeral. Numbers, as it were, are as versatile as the truth we can see and the truth we can only sense. And that is why it is so offensive to me when I am lied to. Lies are transparently porous, they never add up. Truth by contrast is consistent and a base by which to build something solid so be accountable you discalculic bastards.

lyrics

Excuses obtuses obtuses excuses
It just don't add up
You do the math
Excuses obtuses obtuses excuses
It just don't add up
You do the math
It just don't add up you do the math
It just don't add up you do the

1 and 2
Let me look inside you're head
Let me look inside you're head
What's the matter with you boy
What's the matter with you
let me look inside you're head

5 + 5 multiply
2 x 2 who are you?
Let me look inside
Let me look inside you're head

I was worried so worried
What I would find
If I dared to look inside
The treasure trove
Of your own madness
That only you can understand

Let me look inside dare I ask
Let me look inside just this once
Let me look inside
Let me look inside your head

Excuses obtuses obtuses excuses
It just don't add up
You do the math
Excuses obtuses obtuses excuses
It just don't add up
You do the math
It just don't add up you do the math
It just don't add up you do the

Sixes Sevens
Contradictions
Square root my mind mind mind mind mind mind
Shifting Sands
Algorithms
Bent Straight
Crooked Lines lines lines lines lines lines

Let me look inside dare I ask
Let me look inside just this once
Let me look behind your mask
Let me look inside your madness

Excuses obtuses obtuses excuses
It just don't add up
You do the math
Excuses obtuses obtuses excuses
It just don't add up
You do the math
It just don't add up you do the math
